Dr. Himanshu Bhatnagar, DPS MR 1979
Dr. Himanshu Bhatnagar, born to Sh. Gyan Swarup, a Scientist Dad (Atomic Energy) and Smt. Sushila, an Educator Mom, was raised in New Delhi. At DPS Mathura Road, Dr. Bhatnagar split his time among academics (top 2% of the graduating class of 1979) and various activities (Instrumental Music, Painting, Athletics).
He pursued professional education at Delhi College of Engineering and worked with HCL and Prannoy Roy for 2 years and then moved to US (1985).
In the US he received his D.Sc. in Computer Science working in Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Transportation Systems followed by Executive Education from MIT's Sloan School of Management.
Dr. Bhatnagar worked for Gensym Corporation and developed several transatlantic and North American software systems including a trade floor system, Gasline Prediction systems. In 1998-99 he was hired to implement the Panama Canal's Ship Scheduling system which he completed well within the deadline of Dec 31, 1999. In 2000 Dr. Bhatnagar developed a new product based on his thesis and has pioneered several new innovative technologies for United States Dept of Transportation funded projects and for Dept. of Veteran Affairs and Centers for Medicaid and Medicare services.
Dr. Bhatnagar is an author of dozens of research papers, patents, awards and citations and also served as Adjunct Professor at Boston University. He recently opened up a branch office in Gurgaon and has deployed his products in over 40 locations in North India including Delhi Police HQ. He has funded Electric Vehicles and EV research at a lab at his alma mater Delhi Technological University for the past 2 years.
Dr. Bhatnagar is the CEO, HBSS Connect Corp. and lives in North Andover, MA USA, with his wife of 25 years, Divya (an Education Entrepreneur) and 3 children (Arjun, Abhijay and Anika).
