Colonel Vinod Awasthy, Sena Medal CareersConnect Talk Show He commanded a Rashtrya Rifles Battalion, an Anti- Terrorists Unit, in Kashmir and was decorated with 'Sena Medal' for gallant and distinguished services rendered as the Commanding Officer. His Unit was awarded the Chief of Army Staff Unit Citation for exceptional contribution to eradicating terrorism in Kashmir. He later commanded another Infantry Battalion in J&K and fetched a Unit citation as well for distinguished service to the Nation. On superannuation from the Army after 36 years of colour service, in June 2014, the Officer joined Reliance Industries at Jamnagar as Head HR with Punj Llyod Group serving there till 2018. Since then, he has been a Consultant with The Gurukul Group of Schools in Haryana, a Visiting Faculty, Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak and a pioneer at the Subedar Inderjit Singh Medico Valley Foundation. Col. Vinod Awasthy, Sena Medal, is a science graduate from Delhi University and an alumnus of the prestigious Indian Military Academy wherefrom he was commissioned in June, 1978, as an Infantry officer. While in the Army, the Officer has held significant appointments across the Nation including that of the Adjutant at the National Defence Academy and a Group Testing Officer at the Services Selection Board, Allahabad and as a faculty member at the renowned Defence Institute of Psychological Research, New Delhi, a DRDO Laboratory.
